About

Held during the April, July and October school holidays, our 2 day Beginner Umpire Workshops are aimed at those completely new to umpiring and keen to take the next steps towards joining the team in white.

DAY 1: Rules of Netball Theory. Day 1 is classroom based where we cover the basic rules of netball and their application in umpiring.

DAY 2: Pratical. We start day 2 in the classroom but quickly move outside to start our practical umpiring journey. Under the guidance of  PNA Umpiring Mentors, participants will start blowing their whistle umpiring real matches played by the attendees of our Holiday Clinics.

Included in the price of the workshop is a finger grip whistle and the World Netball, Rules of Netball 2024 Edition.

All participants are also required to sit the online Rules of Netball Theory Exam prior to the Workshops – please be aware that the cost of the Rules of Netball Theory Exam ($12.50) is not included in the workshop price. This can be completed in the online Netball Australia Learning Portal.

NOTE: In order to be eligible for a PNA Green Shirt Program in 2025, umpires must have attended and passed a PNA Beginner Umpire Workshop in 2024.

More information regarding the PNA Green Shirt 2025 program will be distributed at the end of the year.
